Enfield Town LFC 0 v 2 Manchester City Ladies - Scorers Grocott (40), Buffel (73)

On a warm sunny afternoon Manchester City Ladies travelled to Enfield Town for an FA Cup Fourth round tie.

After a slow start, with Enfield Town looking to soak up pressure and catch City on the break, City were forced into a tactical change resulting in more creativity.

On 40 minutes Becky Grocott managed to elude the Enfield defence and lob the goalkeeper. City led 0-1 at the break.

The second half continued in the same vein with City dominating possession and pressuring the Enfield backline, a second goal looked very likely but City were made to be patient. Half an hour into the second period this patience paid off when substitute Krystal Johnston found space on the right and crossed for Sarah Buffel to slot home in emphatic fashion.

A calm assured performance for the rest of the half ensured City were into the next of the FA Cup.

Manager Leigh Wood commented, â€"A professional performance by the Ladies with two bits of quality ensured our progress through to the 5th Round of the FA Cup. Well done Ladies.”
