Three early goals saw the Dons' hope of a shock Cup victory dashed at wet and windy Whitehawk.

With the home side fielding a much-difering lineup compared to the corresponding league fixture play was more even, but in the 7th minute Whitehawk's player-manager, the veteran ex-Don and England international Debbie Bampton, swept past a defender and drilled a low shot into the bottom corner. Six minutes later Lucy Goering was unable to keep out a long range Polytello effort, and, after Waller's shot was blocked by her own player, Whitehawk made it 3-0 in the 20th minute when Heffernan's shot was parried by Goering only for Abdalla to sweep the loose ball into the roof of the net. Bampton curled a shot just wide and Goering saved well from Polytello before, in first half injury time, Laura Topliss charged down a clearance then saw two shots saved by Hubbard in quick succession.

The Dons had the wind behind them in the second half, but still made little impact. Abdalla's shot was parried by Goering only for Heffernan to miss an open goal, then an inswinging Lekesha James corner was expertly tipped over her own bar by Hubbard. In the closing stages Goering saved comfortably from Bampton and Hunter as both sides played out time in the awful conditions.
